Guess who’s nosing in on the funeral car market. Rolls Royce.
When you think about Rolls Royce, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind? I bet it isn’t funeral processions and caskets. It’s probably luxury and style. That’s what I think about when the RR brand is mentioned.
Well, not any more. The luxury car manufacturer is entering the funeral car business with a new luxury vehicle called Phantom Hearse. What a name!
The car is built by Biemme Special Cars and the price tag for the new funeral vehicle tops out at $662,000.
Bearing the distinction as the world’s most luxurious and expensive funeral car, the Phantom Hearse is sure to turn some heads, but I’m betting that there will be funeral companies who purchase the vehicle and it will be used for services – most likely by members of the celebrity class.
The Rolls Royce Phantom Hearse features a 6.75-liter V12 engine because you really need that power when you lead a procession at 25 miles per hour. It’s also made entirely of aluminum and sits on a self-leveling air suspension. More than 600 assembled parts went into making the luxury hearse and more than 650 feet of welding.
This makes me wonder just how much a family would pay to have their deceased love one escorted in the back of a luxury funeral car.
