Auto Review: 2011 Nissan Rogue SL

You can tell a lot about a person by the vehicle they drive. And not just the body style either. I’m talking about the name. And if you are feeling a bit like a maverick then you’ve got to sink your driving teeth into the 2011 Nissan Rogue SL. It lives up to its name.

This crossover utility vehicle is sporty and practical. It features a four-door five-passenger look with a 4-cylinder engine. Not pretentious and not flighty. Just as down to earth as a rogue vehicle can be, but you don’t want to be doing any off-roading. This is a road vehicle.

If you like the Jeep Liberty or the Toyota RAV-4 then you’ll love the 2011 Nissan Rogue SL.

Fuel economy delivers an estimated 22 miles per gallon in the city and 27 on the highway. For power, you get a 2.5-liter DOHC engine with 16 valves and 170 horsepower. The 4-cylinder engine also features a continuously variable automatic transmission.

The suspension is independent on the front with stabilizer bars and multi-link on the rear. You also get power steering and anti-lock brakes with electronic brake force distribution and brake assist.

You also get all the standard safety and interior features that you’d get with any comparable vehicle on the road:

  • Front, side and head curtain air bags
  • Six-way manual driver seat
  • Four-way fold-down front passenger seat
  • Cruise control
  • Steering-wheel mounted audio controls
  • Outside temperature display
  • Power windows, locks and mirrors
  • Remote keyless entry
  • Mood lighting
  • Power outlets
  • Intermittent wipers
  • And roof rails

Options include:

  • Bose premium audio system
  • Seven speakers
  • AM/FM/XM/MP3 radio with six-disc CD changer
  • Speed sensitive audio control
  • Bluetooth
  • Cargo cover
  • Fog lights
  • Power moonroof

The 2011 Nissan Rogue SL is a vehicle you don’t want to wait for. It debuts this month and now is a good time to schedule a test drive.
