When you think of what you want in a truck, there are a lot of conflicting images in your mind. On the one hand, you want a sturdy workhorse that can haul anything without ever saying uncle. You want it to be able to get dirty, powering through some tricky off-road conditions without paying much attention to the bumps. But you also want it to be a classy vehicle you wouldn’t be ashamed to drive to a nice dinner. You’d like it to be impressive to the people walking down the street.
Oh, and you’d like it to be affordable. That too.
The Nissan Frontier XE is one of the few trucks out there that can really do it all. It’s a good work truck, with a 2.5-liter four cylinder engine that puts out 152 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque. Rear-wheel drive and five-speed manual transmission are standard, which is just fine for you: the basics are what you need taken care of here. The interior is very attractive, which means you’ll never be ashamed to invite someone else to share your ride, and the cabin controls are so easy to reach and to use that you’ll never catch yourself almost backing over a load because you were fiddling with the radio.
Even if you do find yourself in an unfortunate predicament, the Frontier XE has you covered there, too. It comes with stability control and antilock brakes to keep your driving sure, and if someone else veers out of control here are front seat side and side curtain airbags to keep you safe if the worst happens. Any truck is bound to get in a sticky situation now and then, so it’s good to know you’re covered safety-wise.
The steering feels pretty amazing for a work truck, which means it’s easy to take off the job and into town anytime you want. No bumps or rattles; it handles smoothly and takes corners easily, making for a nimble ride that you’ll be happy to show off to anyone, on the job or off.
It’s an attractive truck, too, two words you don’t often hear slung together. It’s got a masculine, brawny style to it, with its largeness offset by rounded corners. You kind of want to bear-hug it; it’s got that comfortable big, easygoing, strong nature about it. If you’re the sort of person who gets seriously dirty on the job but cleans up nice for company, this is the truck for you. It’ll make just the same transition, and it’ll do it with ease.
As always, if you have any questions about the 2010 Nissan Frontier or would like to take one for a spin, drop in at John Marazzini Nissan anytime. We’re always happy to show off great vehicles and our latest models just like these.
